Your CV should make it easy for a recruiter to understand what you can do, where you have done it, and why your experience fits the vacancy.
- Start with a clear professional headline
- Write a short professional summary
- Show achievements, not only duties
- Keep the layout easy to scan
- Tailor before applying
Start with a clear professional headline
Use a short headline that matches the type of role you are applying for. A focused headline such as “Sales Executive – B2B & Retail” is more useful than a vague description. Avoid stuffing the top of the CV with too many labels.
Write a short professional summary
In three to five lines, explain your experience level, strongest skills and the kind of value you have delivered. Keep the language specific and factual.
Show achievements, not only duties
Under each role, combine responsibilities with evidence of results. Numbers are helpful when they are accurate: sales growth, campaign leads, response time, team size, customer volume or projects completed.
Keep the layout easy to scan
Use consistent headings, dates and spacing. A recruiter should be able to identify your recent experience, skills and contact details quickly on a phone or laptop.
Tailor before applying
Read the vacancy carefully and bring the most relevant experience closer to the top. Do not add skills you do not have simply to match keywords.
